It is not only decorative, but will also provide more air flow which is good for the ducks. But it is also huge, has a nice walk way for the ducks to get from the house to the pond, and it is screened in for their safety at night.
The size isn’t too large for those with smaller outdoor spaces. Ducks need access to a weather-resistant and secure duck housing to protect them from the elements and predators. You can call this shelter a duck house or a duck coop. If your duck house has open windows, it’s important to cover the openings with hardware cloth or chicken wire to keep predators, such as raccoons, out. This way, your birds can enjoy ventilation and stay safe from predators. Alternatively, you could install shutters that can lock closed.

In addition, straw is more moisture-resistant than wood shavings. You won’t have to replace the bedding quite as frequently if you use straw. You can pile the straw high to create a warm environment for your ducks. Ducks also need plenty of space to roam around and forage.

Believing Sawyer dead and that Cale will never be believed, Raphelson is tricked into confessing and arrested for treason. Sawyer names Cale his new special agent and takes him and Emily on an aerial tour of D.C. On Marine One, aboard which he receives word that other nations have agreed to his peace deal after learning of the events at the White House, calling for an end to all wars to ensure peace. White House Down is a 2013 American political action thriller film directed by Roland Emmerich and written by James Vanderbilt.
Movie Clips
A paramilitary team led by ex-Delta Force operative Emil Stenz infiltrates the White House, kills the Secret Service, and seizes the building. The tour group is taken hostage in the Blue Room by white nationalist Carl Killick, but Cale escapes to search for Emily, who was separated during the tour. Retiring Head of Presidential Detail Martin Walker brings Sawyer to the PEOC beneath the White House Library. Cale kills a mercenary, taking his weapon and radio, and rescues Sawyer after overhearing Walker.
Supervising Art Director
Cale hopes to impress his daughter Emily by interviewing for the Secret Service, getting tickets for them to tour the White House. His interviewer, Deputy Special Agent-in-Charge Carol Finnerty, a college acquaintance, deems him unqualified for the job. The film grossed over $205 million worldwide at the box office, against a budget of $150 million. White House Down was one of two films released in 2013 that dealt with a terrorist attack on the White House; the other, Olympus Has Fallen, was released three months earlier. I have to say, or in this case write, that this was a fairly disappointing movie.
White House Down Cast & Character Guide - Screen Rant
It is pretty much a Die Hard wannabee with a daughter-dislikes-father sub-plot. I do not mind the reusing of the Die Hard concept if the film is good. To add to this the entire situation have come about because the president just left severa... With Finnerty's help, Cale realizes that Raphelson was the one who gave Walker the launch codes, having acted at the behest of the corrupt military–industrial complex.

Walker brings in ex-NSA analyst Skip Tyler to hack the PEOC's defense system but requires Sawyer to activate the nuclear football. They escape in the presidential limo but are chased by Stenz and crash into the White House pool. With Sawyer and Cale presumed dead in an explosion in the cabana, the 25th Amendment is invoked; Hammond is sworn in as president.
White House Down benefits from the leads' chemistry, but director Roland Emmerich smothers the film with narrative clichés and choppily edited action. When terrorists take over the White House, a cop sets out on a one-man mission to save his daughter and the president.
Audience Reviews
Cale and Sawyer, still alive, learn Hammond has ordered an aerial incursion to retake the White House, but the mercenaries shoot down the helicopters with FGM-148 Javelins. Learning Emily's identity from the video, Stenz takes her to Walker in the Oval Office. Hacking into NORAD, Tyler launches a laser-guided missile at Air Force One from Piketon, Ohio, killing Hammond and everyone on board. Raphelson is thus sworn in as president and orders an airstrike on the White House. Capitol Policeman John Cale has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer. Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group.
In the film, a divorced US Capitol Police officer attempts to rescue both his daughter and the President of the United States when a destructive terrorist assault occurs in the White House. The film stars Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Richard Jenkins, Joey King, and James Woods. A devoted father takes on a ruthless paramilitary group that has seized control of the White House, and he fights to protect the US president as the entire nation sits in the grip of fear. A bomb is detonated in the United States Capitol, sending Washington, D.C. Finnerty escorts Raphelson to an underground command center in the Pentagon, while Vice President Alvin Hammond is taken aboard Air Force One.
Emily runs outside and waves off the incoming fighter planes with a presidential flag, calling off the air strike. Sawyer survives thanks to a pocket watch once belonging to Abraham Lincoln that stopped Walker's bullet. U.S. President James Sawyer makes a controversial proposal to sign a peace agreement with other nations to remove military forces from the Middle East. Divorced John Cale works as a Capitol Police officer assigned to Speaker of the House Eli Raphelson, whose nephew he saved while serving in Afghanistan.
Now, with the nation's government falling into chaos and time running out, it's up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country. Walker, blaming Iran rather than Sawyer for his son's death, demands Sawyer use the football to launch nuclear missiles against various Iranian cities. Tyler inadvertently triggers the tunnel explosives and is vaporized. Cale kills most of the mercenaries and frees the hostages, one of whom bludgeons Killick. Sawyer attacks Walker, but in the fight, Walker uses Sawyer's handprint to activate the football and shoots Sawyer. Before Walker can finally launch the missiles, Cale crashes a reinforced Chevrolet Suburban into the Oval Office and kills him with the car's mini-gun.
So it's a sad moment when he has to pick up his waiting daughter Emily (Joey King). Suddenly a paramilitary force commandeers the place and threatens to start World War III. Wrong place, right time for Cale, as he becomes the de facto presidential protector after all, though in the extreme straddle position of having to cover the President and rescue Emily when she is taken hostage.

It is pretty much a Die Hard wannabee with a daughter-dislikes-father sub-plot. It’s a sturdy, old-fashioned bit of escapism that keeps delivering the goods and finds its own small ways of toying with our expectations. In one of screenwriter James Vanderbilt’s niftier touches, Cale doesn’t spend the movie trying to rescue Sawyer but rather on the run with the president, looking for Emily and plotting their escape. This affords Tatum and Foxx a lot of shared screen time, in which they project an effortless, ingratiating chemistry that recalls Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in the first “Lethal Weapon” pic, the characters bonding as fathers and patriots whenever they aren’t dodging bullets. Adding insult to injury, Cale has brought his president-obsessed daughter, Emily (Joey King), along for the day in a touching effort to convince her he isn’t a total failure. When she insists they stick around for an official White House tour, he reluctantly agrees, which is right around the time that all hell breaks loose.
Popular reviews
Tatum’s John Cale, by contrast, has done his time in the trenches ― three tours of duty in Afghanistan, to be precise. During one of them, he saved the life of a fellow soldier whose uncle happens to be the speaker of the House (Richard Jenkins), earning Cale his current job as a Capitol policeman assigned to the speaker’s security detail. Somewhere in those same years, Cale’s personal life went bust, leaving him with an ex-wife and moody preteen kid to try to win back — an outcome, in the grand scheme of movies like this, that can often be hastened by some extravagant act of heroism. Walker, blaming Iran rather than Sawyer for his son's death, demands Sawyer use the football to launch nuclear missiles against various Iranian cities. Cale kills most of the mercenaries and frees the hostages, one of whom bludgeons Killick.
Released on June 28, 2013, by Sony Pictures Releasing, White House Down received mixed reviews from critics toward the screenwriting and the clichéd storyline, although the performances and action sequences were praised. The film grossed over $205 million worldwide at the box office, against a budget of $150 million. White House Down was one of two films released in 2013 that dealt with a terrorist attack on the White House; the other, Olympus Has Fallen, was released three months earlier. For much of the pic’s first half, Emmerich keeps the action on a relatively human scale, with Cale and Sawyer engaging the evildoers in tight, claustrophobic spaces including a dumbwaiter shaft and the first kitchen.
Where to Watch

In The Nice Guys, Gosling’s rumpled PI laments that “the days of ladies and gentlemen are over,” but Gosling is at his best playing men whose time has passed. Even the 20th century’s most iconic doll can barely match his Kenergy. The closest thing to Ken in Gosling’s previous filmography is his character in Crazy, Stupid, Love, a self-styled ladies’ man who takes Steve Carell’s hapless middle-aged dad under his wing. He’s just this side of irredeemable, but it becomes clear that he doesn’t get any more from the women he sleeps with than they get from him.

Even though the star of the movie is Barbie, there’s another character that’s winning the hearts of admirers all over the world. Another Twitter user (or X user) evoked the meme to poke fun at the website’s recent rebranding. “Returning to Barbieland to find the Dreamhouse has become the Mojo Dojo Casa House,” Lillian Crawford captioned a post featuring side-by-side pictures of the Twitter and X logos. The much-memed, long-awaited feature from director Greta Gerwig is a delightful comic fantasy that promotes and deconstructs its own Mattel doll brand. Gosling’s Ken later denounces the patriarchy and learns from Barbie not to define himself by his possessions, his relationship or his job of just “beach.” He’s just Ken, and he’s Kenough. After ‘Barbie’ breaks a Monday ticket record, industry analysts predict how well that film and ‘Oppenheimer’ will perform this weekend.

When Ken takes over the Dreamhouse, though, it largely loses its right to being called a "dream house" at all. Ken turns the house into a bit of a bachelor pad and deems it the "mojo dojo casa house," a nonsensical name considering "casa" means "house" in Spanish. The scene became a fast favorite among fans of the movie and spread to social media over the following days. As expected, a meme inspired by Ken’s home is already dominating social media. Part power ballad, part battle sequence and part dream ballet, “I’m Just Ken” arrives onscreen like an elaborate bit, or an excuse for Ryan Gosling to flex his Oscar-nominated vocal cords and reprise his viral dance routines. And yet it’s an absolute showstopper, one as ridiculous as it is ideologically ambitious and visually astute. Like the powerful monologue America Ferrera delivers about the impossibilities of being a woman, this five-minute sequence is an empathetic acknowledgment of the pressures put on men to (literally) perform their masculinity, often to toxic lengths. One room is set up as a combination gym and gaming room, while multiple flat-screen TVs proliferate in different areas to create "an immersive entertainment experience." According to the listing, one of those TVs is a 98-inch behemoth valued at $20,000 and stays with the house. This is one Barbie-inspired meme that will get a lot of mileage in the weeks and months ahead. As it turns out, Greenwood and Spencer came at this project with a specific reference point in mind—the pop artist Richard Hamilton’s 1956 collage Just what is it that makes today’s homes so different, so appealing. In a highly relatable montage, the dolls sit through movies with a side of mansplaining, or a beer-fuelled tour of Ken's prized possessions, all while expertly feigning enjoyment at their toxic masculine Kenergy. There's then a scene where the Barbies all sit around campfires with a respective Ken playing guitar to them, which leads to a bust-up when the dolls pretend to lose interest and flirt with a different Ken to the one who's been trying to seduce them. He crows that “the war between the sexes is over, and we won,” but Gosling plays him like a loser, even if he is one who looks awfully good with his shirt off. To make their Barbieland sets a reality, the movie’s production team embraced the surreal, going big on bright pinks and shrunken proportions.
